Gifts of the Spirit Part One: Automatic Writing (A Study and A Score)

First presented at Outside AiR in November of 2010, Gifts of the Spirit Part One is Ron Athey's first large scale group piece since the 1980s and 90s. The cast of 28 generate automatic writing from extracts of Athey's unpublished memoir which is then removed, edited and read aloud alongside the original material. This process is presented as an evolving and immersive performance installation.
