Leo Hahn (1927-2008), plays "Polka Dots and Moonbeams" in the basement of his home in a small town in Ohio, August 13, 2000, at age 73. During his life, Leo played in trios and groups in nightclubs and for hire in Ohio, all the while working in a manufacturing plant, i.e., factory. A mostly self-taught musician, never really learning to formally read music, Leo learned guitar from his uncle at age 6. As a young man, he was a Navy musician, playing to the troups during WWII, with a band of performers that included the later-to-become-famous dancer and choreographer, Bob Fosse.

Leo was very dear to me. His musical influence played an intregal part in the stlye of music I play and that I listen to. He will be sadly missed. I can remember coming over as a kid drinking shots of Canadian Club, watching videos of the jazz greats. From Django Reinhart to Joe Pass. I will cherish my memory of him all the days of my life. I will even tell my kids about him. Thank you so much for sharing!
