I miss that man with all my heart. And I marvel at hearing him say the exact words, almost word for word, that I said when the fearmongers were milking Y2K fear for all it was worth. Thank you Larry. I wasn't off my rocker. Church folks thought I was. I guess I'm in good company. Have a great rest. YOu deserve it. SEe you soon.

My wife knew Larry and said he was as genuine of a person as you can find. He didn't look at himself as being a star. Now he is with his most famous friend (Christ) and is having more fun then ever with the rock that doesn't roll. I wish that I met him.

@chasinherhorse If you think THAT's bad, you should know this: Some of the Artist charge churches an absurd amount of money just to come and minister to people! Just to sing 2 songs! Now as an artist I understand tht the workman is worthy of his hire but if I told you what some of them charge you would just shake your head...

I heard Larry Norman put on FREE!! concerts so that people could hear the gospel free since it is free..I wish these newer artist that claim to be christians would do the same..the majority of them charge anywhere from 10 to 50.00 to attend a concert...maybe they could give a free concert once in a while??? there are lots of souls that could be won ..but they have no money to see you..in Christ Olivia

Listening to this song again after some 33 years or so, I realize that the message is more on target and ahead of its time than even Larry realized. Regardless of religious or spiritual leanings, none of us can ignore the power of temptation to be seduced into being "taken care of" by some dangerous charismatic leader at this fearful time in history. It is easy to give away one's personal authority at any time that the fear for survival is so strong that you want easy answers.

I think the song is written from the perspective of someone who goes through the tribulation, not saved but tired. A chronical of someone who bought into the lie of the anti-christ and finally tires of it and is so destroyed by the events they are ready to die.

Ready to die, I can't take anymore. . . seems to be from a perspective of someone who lived through it. Like a flash forward biography, yet that person, still ironically gives a nod to the false leader even in the wish for death.

i have to say, i love this video! having to compete with that other rock group is made well by the humour of larry!

what does the last line mean though? i'm not 100% sure how to take it.

Also ironic because it's largely due to Larry that rock and Christian music came together.

I first saw him at Hollywood Presbyterian in 1970, much like this -- just him and a nylon string guitar. It was jaw-droppingly good. He is responsible for me becoming involved in ministering through music. He once complimented me on a song I wrote when we both sang in a park in Pasadena (1972 probably.)

Larry, I'll miss you, but I'll see you there!
