In this story artist Segar Passi talks about his life as an artist and about growing up and living on Mer (Murray) Island in the Torres Strait. Segar Passi is one of the artists who contributed artwork and illustrations for the book entitles Myths and legends of the Torres Strait that was published by Margaret Lawrie in 1970. His artwork from the book was featured in an exhibition at the State Library of Queensland in 2009/2010 - 'Meriba Gidhal.'

It's important that we record our elders stories. As he said, he's one of the last artists of his generation from that Mer, so it's more then a privilege to record this mans yarning on video. Thx for the upload
