Why Am I Libertarian?

I was a neocon and didn't realize it up to about 2007. When I started to really question my own alignment was about the time I realized that Donald Rumsfeld had in fact been responsible for our national disgrace at Abu Gharib. That came about because I had learned that he was carrying Pentagon briefings which were enclosed in biblical statements.
That sort of blew the lid off for me and started the whole reevaluation process. It's been several years of examining history and concepts since.

It is unfortunate what has happened to this country and thats Now Why I haveLibertarian views. Total Liberty. Like Ron Paul talks about our Military all over the world, are we supposed to be the World Peace Keepers? If we could fill our Congress with Libertarians we cou ld turn back the clock on much of the unnecessary legislation of the past. Pure and Simple , a vote for Libertarian is a Vote for your Liberty.

It funny I was just writing how the Next layer of the onion is Stefan Molyneux when he said it :) Everyone has to check out his website. especially his free eBook called practical anarchy. changed my life.

@kmg501 I used to be a neocon as well. Between feeling extorted by the IRS, watching "America: Freedom to Fascism" and trying to argue against what Ron Paul was saying, whose words felt hurtful at first, being an Iraq war vet. Then I started realizing that my government was never on my side.

@stefbot Thank you so much, life is such a fascinating learning experience, I'm fortunate to have the friends I have who have challenged me, and I'm fortunate to have become exposed to Ron Paul, Bastiat, Rothbard, and you Stefan

@batfly Depend on your definition of "preemption". If a child is about to get run over by a car he/she can not see, I would use force to jerk the child out of harms way. But that is a much different definition than used by our government which made up false information, and used it as an excuse to attack first. I feel that if someone has it out for me, I'll be as prepared to handle the situation as possible beforehand. When the situation arises I will handle it with quick, decisive action.

@Royal1England Your comment makes no sense at all. You're the one that likes to take up the tailpipe from the state.

@theonlykatii I'll do a video like this with each of the Freedom Force dudes. By the way, we are working on a weekly series in this format that we are calling Freedom Fridays. We have been meeting up weekly ever since Ron Paul's 2008 campaign. The conversations are so good that we eventually agreed that we need to share our conversations with you guys! I know you'll love that, and it be something we can do more consistently. Thank you so much for the feedback!
