I just saw the QM2 pull into Fremantle for the first time. Got up at 6 in the morning. They must've honked the horn before I got there, I didn't hear a single toot.
Boy I'd like to shove the horn up the fucking Captain's ARSE. He ripped me off and now I am pissed.

That day was a foggy one and the atmosphere was not the greatest that could have affected the clarity of the sound. All the other days was a thrill to be below that horn at Noontime.

Unfortunately, we have to make due with what is available now since the QE2's Horn will become silent as a Hotel in November.

QE2 has a much better horn. QM2s is a distant second. Just compare them on YouTube videos.
Check out my ship horns at (make sure to close all the gaps before you copy and paste the link. You will not be disappointed:

It's nice that they were able to make use of the old Queen Mary's horn, but I don't like the faux-steam misting effect. The water mister makes an awful sound, and they drilled into a classic horn to add it.
