Actually, It's not a fake. This is a real 1960 LPC with original cherry finish. They also had a faint "made in usa" imprint on the back of the headstock and then sent to Sweden. George Gruhn had one a while back, and he probably knows slightly more than "SoAwesomelyFunny" when it comes to vintage guitars. Not to mention Walter Carter works for him too. 100% real, no question...

@mbafmike it just does not sound good enough to be a real les paul from that era

Sweet guitar

Not sure about "wine red "in 1960. Is this not see thru cherry?

@Trv3GuY Gut erkannt. :) I'm indeed a German from Frankfurt/Main, I hope this doesn't ruin the viewers experience. :p

@noreasons2eguitarst according to his accent he seems to be german... stimmt doch, oder? ;D
lol it's fake, Gibson started using wine red in 1968, and the serial numbers on the headstock are not the right style. Plus, it doesn't sound nearly as good as one would...

@SoAwesomely Funny - Thanks for stopping by. Exactly this very rare guitar in this finish is described in the Ultimate Guitar Book on page 81-. It should be one of only six made back in 1960 in this color and one of only three which survived until today. You have learned something new today and this is a good thing, since knowing is better than believing. :)

@LesBoucaniers35 Since the guitar is 100% original also the pickup wiring is. Unfortunately Gibson used at this time the "out of phase" wiring and it simply sounds awful, thin, itchy/squeaky and a burden for the ears. Of course this could be changed by using a soldering iron, but who wants to fiddle around with a highly collectible and valuable instrument? HAHA
