on the new NBC sitcom, Kath & Kim. Blair talked about why she decided

I think the US one is far too mainstream. The whole appeal of the original show was that Kim was overweight and Kath had awful Frizzy hair. Kim's obese friend with skin allergies also formed a big part, as did Kel's inimitably dorky behaviour and turns of speech. Put simply - the US characters are too attractive and too normal.

Well it seems the show got cancled out here so I guess people didn't take a lking to it, o well, maybe you were right. However I loved the show and am sad they cancled it, I never knew that it was somehow based and a Australian version, just like I found out Ugly Betty was a knock off of a Colombian version called Betty la Fea, do they show Ugly Bettey in Australia
