-------------------------
According to a recent poll, 74 percent of likely voters are extremely or very concerned about the current level of government spending. And 58 percent think the level of spending is unsustainable.

Is the public right? Is Washington bankrupting America? Some facts from the video:

Spending per household has risen over 40 percent in the last 10 years and is set to do so again in the next 10 pushing debt (and interest on the debt) to unprecedented levels. But that's just a result of PAST spending...

Our government owes $106 trillion in FUTURE spending commitments - that cannot be paid for.

We can solve it, but politicians will have to make tough choices. Increasing taxes can't do the trick ($106 trillion is equivalent to taking all of the taxable income from every American nine times over), nor is it fair to saddle taxpayers with a problem created by government irresponsibility.

We need real spending reform. Merely returning to the spending per household levels of the 1990s would balance the budget in three years.

Reform can only be achieved if the public is informed and engaged. You can start by doing the following:

  • There is only one way to stop the U.S. Gov from its insatiable perpetual borrowing - Destroy the institute of infinite lending to it via money creation, The Federal Reserve. The Fed creates the new dollars out of thin air and trades them indirectly though brokers to U.S. Treasury in exchange for Treas debt instruments. Most were then sold or exchanged to investors or foreign entities. Now most are simply kept on the Fed's balance sheet. Either way it is dollar desctruction though dilution.

  • This video seems to have a message a lot of us agree with, but the organization behind it stinks. While talking about getting money out of politics, Public Notice/BankruptingAmerica's policy is not to discuss who its donors are. This is certainly not a grassroots organization.

  • @zappos49 ......no.

  • WANT TO SAVE BILLIONS OF $ AND BRING IN BILLIONS IN TAX MONEY? LEGALIZE MARIJUANA!!!!!!!

  • @TheCBGBoy Good grief ! You are so full of crap! You have got to be workin for George Soros and Media Matters. Next stop guest on MSNBC!

  • I say let's severely cut military expending and charge at least some taxes to corporations. Reagan (may he stay in hell) and Bush handed the country over to a small group of corporations in exchange for NOTHING. Don't be fulled, the "trickle down economic" model does not exist, will never be a reallity and only serves one purpose: to give some conservative ideologues the illusion that they will get something for supporting corrupted tea party politicians.

  • @MacGirvan That is a lie. The tea party is a corrupted entity created to distract people from real issues. The tea party is a dangerous unbrella of paramilitary conservative extremists that can only be compared to the taliban. They fight to exempt corporations from paying any taxes whatsoever and bringing back slavery. The teaparty showed how dangerous it is showing up with loaded guns to peaceful town hall meetings about health care reform, their reign of violence is well documented.

  • @TheCBGBoy The tea party fights to give tax payer money back to the taxpayers!!!
