A video comparing the guitar solos of kirk hammett and joe satriani.
just before Metallica was to record its first album, Kill 'Em All. At the time Hammett was taking private guitar lessons from now famous Joe Satriani..Hammett is one of the better-known students of guitarist and instructor Joe Satriani. In 2003, he was ranked 11th in the Rolling Stones "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".

@fauzo86 I agree. Been waiting for Kirk to join. But he's not the type of guy to do something like that. He's weird that way. He's Really private and not egocentric which you kind of have to be to go up on stage with Satch, Vai, Yngiew, etc.

@MrEricksardinas that has nothig to do with it. read what you wrot, now u are comparing satriani with the hole band, not only kirk. satriani is much much beter than kirk, he is among the best guitarrists ever because ohis music and his talent. besides, this man changed the world, without him kirk wouldnt be the guitar player he is today.

@MrEricksardinas dude, saying, that Alex is able to play metal only... You're completely ignoring the fact that he plays jazz in his self-titled band Alex Skolnick Trio. Besides, playing metal doesn't automatically mean, that you can play metal only, it's like saying, if I am driving a car, I don't know how to walk or ride a bike.

Everyone remembers guitar solos Kirk Hammett ... BUT NO ONE IS ABLE TO REMEMBER ONE JOE SATRIANI GUITAR IN SPITE OF ALL THE TECHNICAL ... WHY? it is just that, technical, and is not feeling quite repetitive... more difficult is knowing how to compose something that will last over time and remain in the memory of the common people and the guitar solos of kirk be remembered more beyond his own life as no one remembers a memorable guitar solo mr joe satriani.
