This is my 100% homemade robot, if you wish to learn how to make one just like it please take a minute to read.
If your only after some TECHNICAL/SPECIFIC question, feel free to mail me.

There is plenty of FREE information all over the internet, GOOGLE is a very powerful tool, which you can use to find anything you want.
I recomend to who may want to get to the basic level of understanding and building this robot, that they concentrate on learning the basics of electronics and programming (programming only for who would want to do computer interface).
For that, like i mentioned above, you should use GOOGLE, just type your question, and most likely, you won't be the only person with that question, so 99.9% of chance you will find your answer in 30seconds.
Wikipedia.org has plenty of useful information on anything you may want to know. I personally leart probably 50% from there.
If from here you still have some questions, I'll be glad to answer them, just mail me, and I'll try to help you out.

For now, probably just try this link below, which may help you start off (I honestly haven't explored this site, just happened to toggle through it, but I found it may have what most of you need for now).

-------------------------------------

This was for my course (IT) final project...It goes wherever you want, films and broadcasts the signal so you can watch it on a TV with UHF receiver.

It's totally directionable and the camera turns to both sides.
It works with wireless technologies, like UHF for video broadcast and simple radio frequency transceivers and receivers (home made).
There are 2 stepper motors of 1 amp, one for each back wheel.
The whole chassis and assembly parts were all either home made or recycled.

When I made this movie, it still had some bugs on frequency adjustment between the camera signal and the remote signal, witch is the reason why i sometimes lost control of the camera/robot, leading it to work uncontrolled (like when the camera popped out).

I would make a new movie with everything working correctly, but now I don't have it with me anymore. The school kept it, to take to presentations and that sort of stuff! :) lol

Power supply - 12volt 7amp/h battery

For my 2nd project, I'm really proud of it...even thoe now I would do a completely different and more ambitious job.

Thanks for watching/reading!

  • Now it needs a propeller on the top and the back lol and a few bottle rocket launchers and ur good to go. Question, What was the purple lights next to the lens?

  • @theevilcruz LOOL, I will consider your suggestions on my next project (if there ever is a next project..lol). As for the fed lights, they are the infrared leds on the camera (you usually wouldn't see them, since our eyes cannot see that frequency of light / wavelength, but the camera captures them and then we see them through the TV)

  • curious, how did you make the motor reverse itself back and forth I know its basic but I would like to know as I am a begginer in robotics I want to go to college for robotics and the like and I'm trying to get a little know how before I do so. If you have any links that would help to.

  • @MegaFracture To reverse the direction of motion, in these motors...since they are stepper, everything is done in the control module. It's basically just switching the clock signals in reverse mode...but I know this won't make any sense to you. But in ordinary motors (like something you'd have in an RC car...) to reverse, you simply reverse the wiring (switch plus with minus)...and the motor will spin the other way...cheers

  • @perfusus well why don't you go ahead and do that then...:) I can guarantee you it's not the same thing...and this required much research and time...
