Inspired by the legendary Green Hornet (The Kato Show in Hong Kong) TV episode "The Preying Mantis" on ABC, we created this 30 second short film as tribute to the 1966 TV series characters, Bruce Lee (Kato), and Van Williams (The Green Hornet). Let's Roll Kato!!

Sample test and video recording footage filmed with the Canon Powershot S95 on 720p HD mode.

Kato/Director/Producer: Myself
Stunts/Thug: John Carter
The Green Hornet: Himself
Cameraman: Jumar aka Jay Riku

And a very special thanks to my good friend Tony Valente, Jim Kelly , Loretta B, and Gianfranco aka GFMGM (who originally posted the Preying Mantis clip) for all their support as well as Van Williams and the late Bruce Lee for inspiring fans all around the world.

  • Hello my friend, how are you?...I am going to give you the latest developments on what's going on after the release of "The Green Hornet"movie.

I just got a called from one of my friends who is a studio executive producer. Everybody is so upset with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Michael Gondry that they want to stick them inside a flat-rate box and send them to Venezuela with no return. The movie has gotten so many bad reviews...

  • @raulcitraro This doesn't surprise me one bit. All things taken into consideration, the movie should have made a lot more.

  • Seth Rogen and his partner, Evan Goldberg, have damaged a great franchise. I saw advanced screening of the film and plot wise is idiotic, predictable and non-convincing. They stuffed the movie with tons of explosions, slow-motion fight scenes and last but not least, 3D but the story is not interesting at all, they did all this to attract audiences. Sometimes,I wonder, what criteria the "big wigs" of Hollywood use to assign a "fat" budget to someone who has no idea of a character or a franchise.

  • @raulcitraro No matter what happens we can only hope that perhaps a boxed blue ray DVD set of the original series being finally released may result from this.

  • @KatoFilms ,Yeah, you've got that right. Keep up the good work. Could you try to do another short film?, this time, how would you star the opening action-packed sequence of a new Green Hornet movie?. I have a few in mind.

  • @raulcitraro It's possible. I'll let you know if there are production plans in the near future.

  • (Cont.) that a sequel is out of the question. The other thing which is very serious is, Sony is not meeting the numbers they had expected. The budget spent on this movie, $120-$150 MILLION DOLLARS is too much money, even for Sony Picture.

  • @KatoFilms ,Count on me!!

  • @KatoFilms , Please let me know since there is another GH fan, Hornetnest1000, who knows what he is talking about. Maybe the three of us could do a "brainstorming" and come up with another short film. Anyways, let me know. Thanks

  • very nice

  • Very entertaining! I have the Green Horner theatrical movie on DVD. I saw it as a kid in elementary school in the theatre when it was released. Neat and funny video!
