I've been restoring a Pamphonic radio which uses the Pye 15A chassis from 1945.their first radio after world war 2.Pamphonic appear to be an offshoot of Pye,based in North London who put the chassis in a 'grander' cabinet than the original Pye one.They went on to become PAM in the 1950's still under Pye control.
Unfortunately the cabinet was in a very poor state,the glue holding it together having given up being glue at all.
There are long,medium and shortwave bands on the radio as was common practice then.
New "old stock" valves/tubes can still be obtained which brought the radio's performance back to probably as it was when new,especially on shortwave where the frequency changer/local oscillator valve/tube ECH35/6K8G is near it's frequency limit probably.(The design dates from 1939)
The audio track is first BBC World Service from Ascencion Island on 15400 KHz and then a general tune around the 17 KHz/16 Metre band.
Right at the end there's a gerneral tune around the medium waveband in daylight hours with mostly Spanish stations
@fmtvdxer Thanks Dave !

Hugh, that's a very nice job done and the sound quality is excellent too. Much better than todays modern radio's that are built inside plastic cases and suffer from poor quality audio.
