it looks to me like the main tower is what connects the 4 outer towers together through a connector part at the top and when that main tower hits the ground, it punches through those connectors and frees those outer towers to fall how ever. very smart!

Interesting is that after the Hit it takes nearly 2 Sec. untill you can see the Fall....

the tower was completely still for several minutes before the brick hit it. the brick introduced enough motion to weaken the base and ultimately allow the complete collapse.
