Then Rough pencils, in this case actually loose ink roughs.

I go strait to inks after these sometimes. But this is still pretty lose in the key details, so i want to tighten them up with cleaner lines a little.
I'm using a double ended Col-erase pencil. I cut the reaser out of two of them and use the metal band from one to connect the two ends, and use some tape to seal the deal. Lets me use pencils much longer.
Audio notes: These are field recordings i've made over the years.
The first is from Montreal about 4 years ago, in Jean talon metro station.
Then Time Square subway station, New York, 1994.
And finally Toronto, College st. in Little Italy, a sumer night in 2000
for the last couple of minutes i play a little bit of some old Lake of Stew. Band are friends of mine, been getting a lot of press lately, awesome group, see here.

Not sure how to fix it
& didn't have time to fuss.
I used to, now i scan them and print it out in blue and ink over that. keeps the paper surface fresher to work on if you print it, the colours are so you can select them in Photoshop later and remove them. Used to be a photographic effect you did when you're art was shot [see no repo blue in Google], no it helps just as well in Photoshop.
