What an epic track

@ChrisLynn68 I'm not a big F1 fan either, much because i started to follow it this year, when Vettel won all the time! I used to watch DTM but then our TV provider stopped sending it, and the only motorsport was Indycar and the swedish speedway cup! (I'm a swed my self) We had one channel that send F1 highlights so I started watching that, but I didn't get the same feeling as I watched DTM! I wich I could see the turbo F1 in action live! That is a dream for me!

@johannes624 I have to admit I'm not a massive fan of F1 anymore. Like the circuits, as a whole it's now too sterile, too clinical, and dare I say it too safe. I missed the 'Ground Effect' era when these gorgeous skirted cars were often bereft of front wings because they generated so much downforce.
I did see at the track however, the absurdly powerful turbocharged cars in their prime. 1500 bhp in qualifying, with special qualifying engines, and sticky qualifying tyres.

@ChrisLynn68 Indeed! :D

@johannes624 I'm nearly 44 so you've got plenty of time my friend!

@ChrisLynn68 I'm just 16 so and my parents aren't very intressed in motorsport so I've never had a chans to do all of those things that you have done but I promise that I will go too a F1 race at some point! :D

@johannes624 Definate thumbs up - I agree. Too many F1 circuits are 'sterile' for want of a better description. I miss Brands Hatch and Zandvoort. Laguna Seca should be the US GP. Spa Francorchamps is superb (I was there in '92) and saw the last F1 races at Brands in '85 & '86. I saw F1 at Silverstone in '85 too in it's original superfast layout.
Anyone remember when Indycar's came to Silverstone and Brands Hatch in 1978? There's a short clip of the Brands Indycar race on Youtube.

F1 race on Bathurst would be great.

the lap is awesome but the amount of skill by the helicopter pilot
@gnarkillkicksass So it's still a real drivers circuit and demands ability to do the kind of balls out racing that you usually see there. And in that respect I'd sooner not see it ruined by the financial and polictical demands of F1. Look at what happened to Hockenheim and Imola - they're shadows of their former selves. Even Monaco has been softened by moving all the barriers back and using kerbs to mark the apex points rather than them being up to the limit as they were before.
