according to "Race over empire: racism and U.S. imperialism, 1865-1900 By Eric Tyrone Lowery Love"...(hardly a title bespeaking a pro-u.s. bias), sec. of state dan webster DID hold a meeting with haalilio. again, so indication that s.o.s. webster "refused to acknowledge" haalilio. webster himself offered haalilio his thanks for "numerous acts of hospitality to the citizens of the united states". i can find NO evidence whatsoever that mr. sai didnt just fabricate this tale of websters racism.

HE REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE HIM". where on earth did mr. sai get this from??? i can find no evidence of it whatsoever. was there an official u.s. govt. document that recorded sec. of state daniel webster calling him the "n" word? not to mention this same "racist" s.o.s. gave the hawaiians a letter of recognition for hawaiian sovereignty. WTF?
