My second guitar cover of A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran, part deuce edition. It is the first track and hit single from their 1982 album "A Flock of Seagulls". The Seagulls are an 80s synthesizer/pop rock glam pop British band made up of Mike Score (vocals, keyboard), Ali Score (drums), Frank Maudsley (bass), and my idol Paul Reynolds (guitar). Their international hit singles include "I Ran (So Far Away)", "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)", and "The More You Live, The More You Love". new wave modern electropop.

  • It's probably pretty simple but how do you do the "bird" sounds in the beginning of "I Ran"? What effects would I use? Can you show a short video of that? Thanks!

  • @caddood The bird sounds are created by pick scraping on different parts of the E, A, and D strings. I don't have access to a camera anymore, but there are some videos already on youtube for how to pick scrape, and once you have the technique down, just try it on different parts of the E-A-D strings near the bridge.

  • Good cover!

Just a note: I was reading some of the comments and noticed people laughing at the fake delay. I believe a good guitarist makes the best out of what they have. Heck, some of the best guitarist start off with the crappiest guitars/equipment but they turn that disadvantage into what makes their style and sound unique. Keep on playing Karl! Once again, great cover!

  • @imnotrudy thanks for the support homeboy.

  • How much is this guitar Karl ??

  • @TheBushido878 I got it for $400 two years ago, but it was because of a sale and the fact strats were cheaper back then. They cost $500 today if you buy new, and I've noticed with Mexican Strats that if you buy them new rather than used, then as long as you test out 20-30 of them until you find the perfect one, they can be as solid quality as a $1000 American Strat. Go for a new Made in Mexico Strat, they are fucking awesome!

  • @ToolsnFire If you seriously think a cover song should be deleted due to a guy playing it the old fashioned way without using a delay effect because he doesn't have one, then there's no sense in trying to reason with you. Anybody who wants to learn this song from this guy's videos can simply watch for the notes and chords, which are all very accurate, and then use a delay pedal on their own for the sections that call for one. Simple.

  • @KarlMarkis delete your account. You gotta accept genuine criticism constructively, or eliminate your self.

  • @elfhermie you are the epitome of supporting lameness on youtube. Delete your account.

  • @ToolsnFire If you think guitar playing is about using pedals and effects, why not just use a keyboard to make music. This guy has no delay pedal so he improvises as best he can. The rest of the parts are great. Who but a petty fool would give a rat's behind that he's not using a delay? Learn from him and use your own delay pedal for yourself to play it more authentically if you wish. "Delete this" free video that nobody has to look at if they don't want? Man, people are tools today.

  • Dude, this is crap, to the extreme. Delete this video, and learn the song. Unbelievable. And get a delay effect, and know how to use it.

  • damn.....you are good......LIKE!!!!
