A clear view at the untreated area on the inside of a water pipe and where biofilm is clearly visible. The watertube is functioning as drinking water facility for chickens at a poultry farm and was regularly treated with chlorine and hydrogen peroxide. Biofilm is one of the major causes of the growth of harmful bacteria that cause illness to the animals such as diarrhea.

Watter provides a sustainable solution to eradicate the formation of biofilm without causing harm to animals or environment. Watter believes by eradicating the formation of biofilm, the outbreak of contagious deseases will be reduced and forestalled. As a consequence of the reduced contamination source (biofilm red.), the animal growth increases, the mortality rate decreases and that with the use of less antibiotics. The latter is being regarded as one of the causes for bacteria becoming resistant against antibiotics.

The Watter systems are the next generation of ECA technology and were developed and patented by Watter and are now operation on large scale in the Industrial and Agriculture sector to eradicate biofilm, bacteria and viruses from water systems. The effectivity has been tested by the renowned scientific institute TNO (http://www.tno.nl), located in the Netherlands.

The principle of ECA technology is simple and effective, the Watter system produces with two ingredients, namely water and salt a powerful disinfectant called Nontox. This disinfectant is more effective than currently used toxic disinfectants such as; formaline, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide, etc. but is not toxic for animals, humans or the environment.
