Leadership Houston, a top organization developing Houstons civic leaders, and the Museum of Cultural Arts, Houston (MOCAH), the citys most prominent public art developer, proudly unveiled the first public art project in the city to honor Houstons broad diversity.
This is Houston was created as a unique art concept and community action project designed to beautiful our city and raise awareness of diversity by Leadership Houston Class XXVII. The tile mosaic mural includes images in the categories of art/diversity, education, the environment, healthcare, and leadership. Its a one-of-a-kind iconic artwork designed to be a legacy and pay homage to our city.
The 6 ft. x 30 ft. custom mosaic mural will be permanently on display as a gift to the community of Montrose and the city of Houston at 2615 Montrose Boulevard at California Street, on the Hubbard Financial Services Building.
The artistic design of this mural was facilitated by MOCAH co-founder and artist, Reginald Adams.
The $25,000+ project was made possible by Class XXVII and community partners: Waste Management, United Way of Greater Houston, Ursula and Angel Jimenez, CenterPoint Energy, AT&T, Chamberlin Roofing and Waterproofing, JE Dunn, Texas Business Alliance, and Hubbard Financial Services.
