Dragonfly Cleaning Eyes and Face in HD Slow Motion Very Short.wmv

This is a Libellula vibrans dragonfly, or Great Blue Skimmer.

I am not sure that there has ever been a close-up slow motion HD video of a dragonfly cleaning its eyes and face with its head revolving almost 360 degrees.

The background music is from The Governor's School West Chorus from 2009 which my daughter was in. The Governor's School is no longer funded by the North Carolina General Assembly.

In the first email I ever sent out about my family's experiences with this species of dragonfly, we called our first male dragonfly, "Mr. Dragonfly." You can still find the discussion of this story on Google, if you are curious. It's often the first entry on the first page of your search for "Mr. Dragonfly," under "How would you answer this dragonfly story?"

Our story is true and that is how I started to film one, singular, dragonfly habitat every summer since 1996. This has never been done before with dragonflies.
