This is the version I remember from the Torch - couldn't remember who sang it though! All the cd compilations have the Franki Valli version which was probably played at Wigan. IImho the Velours is best! Thanks for posting (have just discovered your posts as they are not under northern soul!).

Velours version all the way. Valli's is good but something's missing on his. Groove, feeling, soul. The backing stuff on this version here is just so amazing.
