The instrumental version of Thelma Houston's big 1977 hit "Don't Leave Me This Way". Bass playing by James Jamerson of L.T.D. Enjoy!

Am I mistaken, or wasn't there a YouTube clip floating around that had just the isolated bass track from this recording?
Anyone else remember it? I'm not finding it in my search results here.

Just brilliant. The bassline stands out so much, especially after the 4 minute mark... the closest I'll ever get to hearing a full length 12" disco mix of this song, heh

Thanks for a great post. Without Thelma's amazing vocals the bass really stands out.

Didn' t know this version existed. I LOVE IT. Especially the first 40 seconds, takes me right back to 1977.
