Live footage from downtown Newark, NJ moments after a shooting around 2:30pm Saturday-February 3, 2007. I was scheduled to attend a screening nearby when a single shot froze the entire downtown area. I question the state of affairs in my city. I'm concerned not about my future, but the future of the children and what we will leave for them. Stop the Violence!

  • I am a former Newark Resident leaving in 2006 because I am a single mother of two and eventhough I love Newark I could not continue in a place where I felt nothing was being done. Thank you for getting the news out about what is going on, hopefully in light of the recent tragedy we can do less talking and more action.

  • Thank you.I hope that wherever you are, you are safe from the insanity of a world who knows no love. Peace to you and your family.

  • As a black man ,I hope this event will start to open the eyes of the ignorant black voters and black politicians who have been brainwash by white liberal to believe that it's a good thing for illegals to inundate thier communities,take their jobs,drive down wages and increase the level of violent crime.

  • I appreciate your honesty. However, my thoughts are it doesn't matter what ethnicity we claim, we are all truly part of the human race.Our older generation disconnects more each day, when they forget the struggle they went through to gain their accomplishments. "We Need More Mentors" What happened to the children are the future. I work with them. Just talk. Remember needing someone to just listen...Peace. Continue the struggle.

  • dis is somethin dat is not unusual n my hometwn newark,nj aka brick city. im not suprised dat somebdy got shot. im not in newark right now. n college right now bcuz i want 2 hav a bright future n show ppl dat ppl from do hood can b successful in life.

  • That's good. You gotta work on you b4 u can save the world. Thats the whole point of it. Holding the mirror 2 ourselves & hoping we really "look", realize that we gotta change somethings. Appreciate the love.

  • its sad what the world has come to. i grew up in linden nj. and lost alot of friends to gang violence, just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or on the wrong block with the wrong color on. then i moved to newton nj, and it was the same deal there. now im in orlando florida its better here, but im still lost cuz of all the friends thats left behind....

  • its a shame how so many of our children grow up without fathers and even mothers thats why they are filled with so much hate and they go around killing people i just say lord have mercy on them

  • I knew that guy, one of my best friends I grew up with him. He lived for a while but he died later from the shot. R.I.P ONE LOVE FOREVER

  • danq I live in newark I hope t2 live pass 20;

  • I'm so familiar with this part of Newark. I pray for the families who lost children in the schoolyard triple homicide case and the survivor's family as well. She is a hero to all young Americans! Watch "Parents of Murdered Children" via youtube videos

    "HOT OFF THE PRESS" seen via youtube videos

  • Loss of life is a tragedy in any circumstance, but that it happens so often it's 'not unusual' or 'almost like breathing'? The insanity is that people would have to 'forget' about it for their own peace of mind.

    College degree and/or money != successful. How you treat people in everyday life = how successful you are. However, to inspectadet, good luck in college, here's hoping someday shootings will be a rare or extinct occurance.

  • It should not be the norm, we have to think about the children and I have family members that are still there as many others do.
