  • A beauty of an interpretation, thanks so much! Again, I'd be curious to know when it was recorded?

  • I don't have this info, but considering SF died in 1962 I would assume it's early-mid 50s.

  • @Uffculme1711 Yes , just download the ´´atube catcher´´ and you can download in any format mp3, video any!!

  • Good God, listen to Feinberg.

  • It dawned on me what the structure of this piece really is: the first movement is an introduction - a fantasia, which introduces all the thematic material which is developed in the second movement (the actual sonata).

This is the only performance of the sonata which was able to bring out the actual structure of the piece for me. Previously, I had always found the first movement to be pretty - but elusive. Truly extraordinary performance — miraculous, really.

  • Stunning playing. I have been looking for this performance for some years. Thank you for uploading it. I tried to download it but my computer was unable to. Would it be possible to make it downloadable please?

  • Hmm....EXQUISITE playing as always ! Thank you.

  • favolosa...per me Feinberg è il miglior interprete di Scriabin (anche rispetto a Nehuaus o Sofronitsky )...ascoltate la seconda o la quinta sonata fatte da Feinberg!

fabulous ... for me Feinberg is the best interpreter of Scriabin (also compared to Nehuaus or Sofronitsky, sorry) ...listen to the second and fifth sonata played by Feinberg!

  • @kiasmus

I could forgive his "rushing" if he would have at least brought out the last four glorious measures in all of its splendor.

  • Who was your teacher??

  • This is great, but Sofronitsky's account remains my favourite. Nobody conveys such a sense of mistery. Feinberg displays great harmonic richness, but he rushes the whole thing a little bit.

  • feinberg shows us here how beautiful these harmonies are . He is far off the style of crazy dramatic interpretations but does it with joy.... never heard a such joyful scriabin before....

It is the best interpretation I know of this piece.
