This is an old original of mine I originally played with my old band Gotham....if someone can help me improve the recording of the acoustic guitar, feel free to give me advice.
I am new at this.

  • I meant a tad lower on the chorus*

    Cheers!

  • @GutterDoll138 Got ya.

I am really starting to believe my problem is not so much my range, as much as the fact that I need to learn how to relax more and just let it out....I look too tense in my videos....

    :-)

  • @vampiroangelico Ya. That's a factor. Tenseness messes with your breathing. Prime example; take a listen to my song video (the only one I have lol) and you'll see it. I was so shy that I almost butchered the song! LOL Just kidding. It could've been way better if I wasn't so tense/shy and breathed better! :)

...You know the only wish that I've had since I was a kid (still) is to sing. I wish so bad that I could make a great band and just express ourselves and touch people's lives! ::sighs:: :(

  • @GutterDoll138 Well I just need to keep practicing, I just need to not give up....Recently my self esteem went down the drain....

I'd be happy to be half as good as you are....

    :-)

  • Wow G! Your voice has improved so much! :o)

The breathing is better and the strength shows better now. The lyrics are pretty. The only advice I have is, don't hit such a high note in the chorus. Okay, you're a Contralto right? Don't try going falsetto yet! A high note for you should be a Mezzo-Soprano. I think the chorus pitch peak should be in MS because the rest of the song is basically Contralto. I think that will do great for ya!

You're doing real good, my friend! Bravo! :o)

  • @GutterDoll138 Thank you sooo much for the compliments and advice!

It means so much to me! :-)

Well actually my vocal instructor thinks I'm a tenor....soprano and mezzo soprano are terms used for female voices. That falsetto note isn't very high for me, but I'd like to know it , if you think it is.....you have to consider there's a 3-voice harmony in that chorus, one of which is a fifth lower, one is a third higher than my main lead line.

  • @vampiroangelico ::blush:: aww man... Thank you so much.

What a nice thing to say. I really appreciate that, my friend.

You're a good man. Keep practicing, keep your head up and

[most importantly] keep your good heart. Your friend, Amy Lou

  • @vampiroangelico Generally, yes. However, there have been male singers I've known (who actually trained with me) who were Mezzo-Sopranos. lol

I definitely wouldn't say you're a Tenor; although you're a little close. I'd say you're more Contralto. Although there's a 3V harmony, they can be manipulated a note or so lower. I think for now, the notes you used are too high for your voice and level. You're doing much better and there's great breathing, but if you go a tad lower it sounds better. :)

  • @vampiroangelico ah scusa! Infatti vedevo il nick italiano! OK ok!

  • @RockingMary Eh ma scusa se parli italiano, allora parla italiano con me....

    Io sono Milanese!

    :-)
