Mike Johnson, Country Music's No.1 Black Yodeler, uses his "Please Don't Squeeze The Charmin" soundtrack as a backdrop for this Slide Show of him engaging in some of his favorite pasttimes with family and friends.

Yep, that's 5-year old Mike Johnson in the white playsuit!

This song was one of five songs recorded on Mike's very first recording session at Nashville's Globe Recording Studio in 1981. It was released on his 1st 45rpm "King of the Fish-Please Don't Squeeze The Charmin" that same year. It has reappeared on his 1983 acoustic album "Mike Johnson's Guitar Songs Vol. 1" [and 2001 CD remake] as an instrumental on the 1987 cassette "Did You Hug Your Mother Today?" and again as an instrumental on the 2005 CD Single "Music by Mike." Why the original vocal version of this song hasn't been re-released other than on the "20th Anniversary CD" of the 45rpm, remains a mystery.

Johnson's Yodel Song Archives, containing 114 yodeling songs written & composed by him are in the Recorded Sound Reference Center's permanent music preservation collection at the Library of Congress.

    Love ya too.

  • Thanks. This was recorded in 1981 at Globe Studio in Nashville. If you type "Roughshod Records Store" into you search browser and click the AirPlay Direct link, you should be able to hear the entire vocal version, while its still posted. I change songs every couple of months. YouTube "Comments" won't let you post a URL here.

    Mike
