We now have a multi-touch driver for the iPhone 3G. This is the biggest remaining piece of reverse engineering for the iPod touch and iPhone 3G and is a major milestone. The Zephyr2 driver demonstrated here should work on everything up and including the iPad eventually.

Visit http://linuxoniphone.blogspot.com/ for future updates!

I'd also like to thank the community for such a tremendous response. Each and every iPhone that I own are donations from the community and none of this would have been possible without your generous support.

  • @ninja2184 yes, i'd like to know such as well. it's such a hassle to transfer and view/use files on the itouch without wifi! android would definately be a step up in this regard.

  • The housing of that thing is so scratched up, oh my goodness.

  • Awesome work man!

  • ok kool but can you do this on ipod touch 3g??

  • when i install android on my phone, i have no multitouch. i ssh'ed in to my phone and the three zephyr2 files are there but i still don't have touch.

  • i hope this can run 100% like a real android on my 3GS!!! when is it going to be done!

  • @alucio20 you need to get the proper zephyr files in the correct place ... you should ssh using a client and double check your file placement

    "that worked for me" =]

  • looking good my freind.. i would have helped with some of the programing but it looks like I'm too late :(. you gotta love Linux
