"Somewhere over the Pacific Ocean....."

That's all I found with this video.
If anybody has details about what really happened, I'm sure we'd all be curious to know. Either way, plenty of footage here to entertain then bore you.

Oh and thanks to the folks who've been posting this in other forums; hopefully with enough circulation we'll find someone with the (true) inside scoop.

UPDATE (6/22/2010)

"This is a F-16 from the Fresno ANG, the 144th FW and 194 fighter Sq. How do I know this? I served with this unit for 11 years and the tail is a dead give away. This unit is an air defense unit and this F-16 is doing a ID pass and after contact with the pilots and ID Confirmation he gives a "WAVE" by shaking his wings back and forth. Be thankful that these pilots are out there to besure that the aircraft in our airspace belong there!" ~ Thanks, mhrose6870

"i saw this video from an old friend of mine in an email....its a military family on the learjet and its the father flying the F16. he dips his aircraft to the left and right...as to wave...if anyone was wondering theres the story" ~ 07PaulyShore07

  • looks like the F-16 was trying to get the pilot of the lear jet to establish communications. The shaking of the wings is meant to establish contact with the pilot of the suspect aircraft and get them to follow the intercepting aircraft. If you notice, the F-16 was armed so who knows what happened

  • @AoAlKaustic AWESOME VID/ PERFECT MUSIC

  • The Lear 35 was most likely a C-21, the USAF version of the '35. From the video, it seems like the Lear expected the Viper.

  • this is a truly amazing video. love it

  • My father was a boom- operator on KC-135s and later on KC-10s. He said the flyboys would always do tricks and stuff to show off to the refuelers. One day he said watch this to a few Tom-Cat pilots. he got up and disappeared for a few minutes. Came back and sat down. One pilot asked what he did... He said, " I just went and took a shit", "Try that."

  • Makes you want to fly out of your airspace just for that...

  • @N314TR It depends, you aren't hearing the radio traffic on this, they could just be chatting about the weather.
