30X Pusher & New Motor

Hi, I did some more helmet cam video this morning. This one is of the 30X Pusher. With the new motor and the wider stance landing gear she is getting to be a reliable flyer. This video was taken with my Creative Vado HD camera. Simultanoiusly I shot the same scene with my Canon HF100 but the quality is not as good. I think I have to change some settings on the Canon. The Canon went out of focus and the color quality was no as intense as it should have been, As you can see from the video, one drawback of this plane is the noise level created by the 2.5 X 1.0 prop. I like the speed but I don't like the noise. The wider landing gear makes it much easier to take off and land. Time to build a new one!

Good lord, get the bugzapper! That thing is awesome. Seems like it could do with a tiny bit more power though. Or lose the steerable nosegear. ;)

@SvenOkonomi Thanks for your comments. This plane flies about the way I would like it to. I like the steerable nose wheel because it makes take offs easier. Have you watched 30X UAV? I think it is the first movie listed (bottom of page). I'm presently completing a plane I started last fall which I call The Cat Fish (Der Wels). It is a little bigger and probably won't be near as fast.

one thing the noise might be due to the prop stalling making that scratching skrechy sound open up yhe intake like the edf version so some air can get to the back of the prop just an idea might be wrong great vid 5*

This happens a lot on pushers because the flow of air to the prop is turbulent. If it were in clean air in would not make as much noise. The prop was tached at over 40,000 RPM and with the thin blades,turbulent air it makes that irritating sound. What would show the difference would be to make a tractor version using the same motor prop combo. It wouldn't be that hard to mod this design to do that. Thanks for your comments.
