The only thing like Franklin Library today is the Easton Press, which is still going strong in real leather production of classic books. However, Easton Press issues don't retain the aesthetics of the best Franklin Library issues even if their leather is top drawer. For instance, many of the Easton issues are simply reprints of old Heritage Press books whose illustrations are often datedly cartoon-ish and not very interesting. .The cover embossing, too, appears ink-jetted instead of real imprint
By the appearance of the books used here, this ad probably dates from the early 80's after the Franklin Library abandon real leather production. The ad only mentions "acid free paper" (no mention of leather).
Grandson: "Aye aye captain".
Grandpa: "Who the fuck are you talking to you little retard?

The Franklin Library made some wonderful books in their heyday during the 1970's and used issues retain good prices on eBay today.

I am tempted to call this number. Maybe I can get through to 1985!
