Ah thanks very much, that's a great help :) I've always wondered if there was a way to improve my own line art.

awsome art!!
but i feel that the computer inking softwear is taking the talent of inking by hand !!!
erhhhgggg....but it does seem to be easy .. so wat do you think i should do...keep inking by hand or get the softwear?

Alex still inks by hand. The software just cleans it up and speeds the process along. It's probably good to start by hand anyway : )

Again, awesome. Sweet to see how others go about this process.
Also, great music choice. Two of my favorite GG tracks. Unique arrangement too of Blue Water Blue Sky, did you guys do that?

Thanks. The arrangement is from one of the official soundtracks.

ok I'm confused. You ported the file into a program at the end, clicked some dongles and the slightly jagged line art smoothed out. Was that vectorising? And what program ws that, it would be really helpful with my own art.
Very nice video overall :D

We'll be focusing on specific steps in later videos, but that was in fact vectorizing. Save your image as a jpeg in Photoshop (must be high resolution), open it in Illustrator, then go up to the top and play around with the "Live Trace" options. Once your image is vectorized, you can drop in colors using live paint (see Part 2)
