In this video, Tom Clare of Websense discusses the findings of a survey conducted by Websense and the Ponemon Insitute on the use and security ramifications of social media in global business.

The survey of 4,000 IT and IT security practitioners in 12 countries includes some surprising statistics and a breakdown of attitudes and realities for each of the countries.
Survey results include:

• 63 percent believe employees' use of social media in the workplace represents a serious security threat to their organization

• 52 percent of organizations experienced an increase in malware attacks as a result of employees' use of social media

• Only 29 percent said that their organizations have necessary social media security controls.
