@Seattlecarnut ASL is done all on one hand so the study of handshakes is utilized more. BSL is done all on two hands so the study of movement is utilized more. Additionally BSL vowels are all done at the tips of fingers. Some sign languages use two hands for one letter and only one hand for another. A Deaf person from the US could not go to England and understand a Deaf person from England and vice versa.
@Imralu Either way, it seems like a good idea to learn the different kinds. That way, you can communicate with deaf and hearing impaired people from both countries.
