^ F1 need proper technological innovation, not stupid rules to ban anything new because it doesn't cater to the lowest common denominator, the driver worshipers.

  • Who said it doesn't give faster acceleration?

The point is that it's just boring to watch!

I don’t fear the downsizing of the engines to lower revving turbo-engines as long as power levels are high!

I think big car manufactures would be more prone to enter F1 and spend money there with development of road relevant technology in sight, and with downsizing/Turbo engines being the future for road cars, smaller turbo engines (that should have more torque) in F1 would be of more interest that 18000 RPM normally aspirated engines!

  • F1 needs simple but sensible rules that ensure cars that are properly fast and with appealing looks: ex. Power levels around 850-900 bhp, wider slicks for more mechanical grip, aero-rules that favour decent looking wing - and body design!

F1 without rules and regulations would be empty and boring, with cost sky rocketing and very few teams running and even fewer being competitive!

Regulations should be simple and cost effective, ensuring development are made in less expensive areas!

  • Sounds fucking awful!

  • sounds like a scooter

  • I think it's Continuously Variable Transmission :).

  • I don't know about u all... but those old cars are far way better looking than nowadays...

  • @tkpenalty Exactly. By pushing technology to further and further limits, the drivers are endowed with more capability. Put a race car driver in a machine that exudes confidence by having innovation and technology in all the right amounts and he/she will be more confident in driving and being aggressive. The extra physical strain would also force them to become fitter and really show that race car drivers are, in fact, athletes.

  • i hate FIA's banhammer............

  • people say the sound of a CVT is bad, but if you're an actual racing fan and spectate races, the doppler effect will take care of it. The cars will seem to rev up :P.

F1s would have sounded like TIE figthers.... don't tell me thats not cool.

  • @EJ25RUN

the driver aids would have prevented the bottoming out in the first place. Driver useless? Thats questionable, because even if the cars are supposedly easier to drive, to drive them at the limit becomes even harder.
