Oh the power of a Mac, and there are so many haters that have never used one and still hate them. Well they need a week with a Mac, and then they'll see what they are missing out on...

freebsd is PART of the linux distro family. making it part linux. making mac part linux and since linux is based of unix. macs are 50/50 unix/linux. and windows sucks but compair a 2.0GHZ linux distro like Kubuntu with 2.0 mac and ull see the diff in performance.

Apple (and by which I presume you mean Macs, were first released in 1984, with the first Apple Computer overall long before that.

price has nothing to do about how good a computer is. and a correction mac is not based on linux, mac is off freebsd unix code but the core is made up of more than just unix. a lot of time and geniuses developed the mac platform to make it work. Windows however is based off their own coding and the os is not as stable as a unix based platform. If u compare a 2.0 ghz Mac to a 2.0 Win u will tell the difference in the performance trust me.

not as a good as a mac... Mac's use a lot less processing power than a pc. Windows is good but a lot of the stuff u see on a windows computer is based of the Mac OSX platform. OSX has been around for 9 years now and microsoft is still trying to keep up.
