This is the last song The G'Babes perfomed at their first gig. From left to right, Annie, bass, Sarah Lee, guitar, Cathy, uke, with Abe, keyboards and his son, Krishna, congos. Aunt Mary Jo (Woody's sister) Uncle Hewlett, Pete & Toshi Seeger, all kinds of family and folks was in the audience having a great time.
Listen close you can hear Aunt Mary Jo yellin' "Were not gonna let it be your last song!"
If you look close, at the very end you can see Arlo wearing a straw hat, sitting in the audience. I'm on camera with my grandkids at my feet trying to distract me...what a great moment!

  • If you've got a version of arlo doing this, I've got a buddy I'd love to share it with down south. (not that garcia's version isn't nice, but I was raised on arlo, and stealin' was my first favorite song in the world and I mean arlo's, not jerry's) Assonance is a great tool in songs, especially for appealing to kids. rolls and flows through the holes in the pockets of my clothes -- oh, wait, that's walkin' down the line. Second verse, same as the first. There be footage from '93 around. Pls/ty.

  • urgh... this made me cry!!! this was my father's favorite song when I was little and he used to sit me and my sister down and play it for us on his guitar.

  • This is really cute. Hey, Remember when Arlo did this song on that Steve Allen Sounds of Summer Series years ago??? I loved that. Do you have any footage from that concert?

  • Great performance of one of my fave songs.

  • You can hear the Guthrie right in the voice! Great job!
