@CMY187 I agree i loved the gimmick and Paul is a great wrestler, not bad on the mic and an awsome finisher, i guess he didnt carry HHHs gym bag as often as some of the other talent.

@liamrules69 I've run into plenty of WWE-only fans myself whose knowledge of wrestling is minimal. They are totally unaware of great wrestlers like Misawa, Kobashi and Kawada, guys who put on some of the greatest wrestling matches this planet has ever had. I love pro wrestling, and I respect certain wrestlers, but for WWE, the company itself, I hate it. It has ruined and buried so many wrestlers who deserve better and elevated others who don't. And yes, I want Russo to die. He deserves it.

@CMY187 Oh dea, sorry to be rude but "easily-led sheep"?? Pro wrestling is a work, a promotion can say whatever they want getting offended is puerile. sorry again but i keep seeing your repetitive, often irrational and bizarrely hateful comments about pro wrestling. i just read one of yours stating that V-russo should be "murdered", now im no fan of russo but don't you think thats a bit much for a creative writer of what is effectivly a performance-art/sport??

i miss Heat and Velocity but no...WWE has turned PG and must ruin ECW and now we've got NXT and Superstars...

@CODMWFAN91 The main reason that WWE still somehow manages to make money and remain the biggest wrestling (pah) company in the USA is that a majority of its fans are easily-led sheep who'd believe anything that the company tells them. Yes, John Cena is No. 1 of the new Millennium. Yes, Triple H is the greatest techical wrestler in USA. Yes, Ric Flair is the greatest of all time.
Bullshit. No. 1 of 2000s, Technical, Greatest of all time?
Samoa Joe. Bryan Danielson. Mitsuharu Misawa.

WWE is a business. They keep ideas, stars and their gimmicks if they make money. I too loved the pirate character of Burchill and Simon Deans gimmick. The pirate gimmick was scrapped because of Disneys threat to sue over copyright. As for Simon Dean he retired soon after. Its a bit like Cena, I hate the guy but he makes money, and people will still watch and attend WWE shows even if they hate him, just to see him lose.

This was actually Burchill's best run in the WWE.

Who even would think of making Nova, Simon Dean?
-
@YRS317 No. I'm a 21-year old from Singapore, not an American Southerner in his early 50s. I respect Cornette though, and love his anti-Russo interviews.
There are several key reasons why I turned away from WWE after Benoit died four years ago. I only watch ROH and NOAH now. I stay away from Dragon Gate, though. Too crazy for me. If you've seen the Dragon Gate matches at ROH Supercard Of Honor 2006 (5-Stars and MOTY) and Supercard Of Honor 2008, you'd know what I mean.
WWE finally made a Sports Entertainment gimmick that actually didn't ruin the wresting and improved the in-ring performance, and then they scrapped it.
I honestly don't understand WWE or its chairman. It's almost as though they WANT to make shows that completely suck.
The one time I actually enjoy a stupid gimmick, and it gets taken away.
Fuck McMahon, fuck his son-in-law, fuck that douchebag Bischoff, and most of all fuck Vince Russo, the Cancer to professional wrestling.

Burchill's Pirate gimmick was THE best gimmick WWE had. Period. I don't care about living legends like The Undertaker, and don't even try to tell me something about Hogan. The pirate gimmick was funnier, Burchill was just as skilled as UT will ever be, and everything was pretty AMAZING. WWE wasted something unique.
