  • @macheteboy787 the best is still the 6.41 at 211.7 we have since sold the car and have been persuing pro stock... im sure there are 6 and 8 cyl that are quicker and there arent any 4 cyl that we know of that are quicker... and as far as I know if they are they probably arent a sport compact format.. we have a friend that has been quicker with a 2jz 6cyl but hasnt officially backed it up to make the record stick...

  • @macheteboy787.... well sseing as tho its an ecotec chevy engine that came in cobalts(sport compacts), and we ran the car in mostly in sport compact racing, and it holds the record in sport compact racing..... Id call it a sport compact!!!!

  • @alicantino59.... search drivers names... this one is Don Nase Jr

@tigane1 the car you saw was Mark Pyke... no this car.. he had been trying the setups but not sure how he came out.. i think he wrecked that car at some point... this car in this video hasnt been run in florida since 2008 and that was in palm beach this car has never been down the gainsville track

  • now that the sport compact series are gone, we run in the NHRA in comp eliminator. we have to weigh 1590 and can only run a 76mm turbo according to the I/D class rules. we actually run a 74.6mm and have gone a best of 6.69 @ 196. the car 60' was .96 and the 1/8 was 4.21 @ 181

  • with the equipment in this video (81mm turbo) the car 60fts at an average .94 or .95 the best it has seen is .925 in the 60'. the car in this trim also sees about 180-185 mph in the 1/8 at around 4.17 et its best to date was 4.12 @ 189.9 in the 1/8. the car weighed in at 1550 with driver.

  • we run a 2 speed powerglide trans. the driver leaves the car in 1st gear and leaves the tires halfway in the water box, and mashes the gas. the tires naturally break loose witht he power and he then carries the burnout out while shifting the car into second to finish it out... the ecotecs make a ton of snot but most of the HP and touque is in the higher RPM range.

  • whoops lol

  • nitro dragster

  • @Topfueltrooper yes that makes sense since its a four cylinder toyota?!?!?!!?, oh yes, if you do your research, you will find that toyota was actually the first to employ a hemispherical piston engine. mopar just can't come up with anything better

  • Another division 7 comp racer who runs a 2jz is Brian Fitzpatrick doesnt run SC and its not a 4 cylinder but its still ultra quick; in qualifying hes always around -.7 under the H/D index:

  • ecotec!!!!

  • @widebodyeclipse13 Thanks for the update. do you have any info or video links to your friends 2jz rail? I;ve been running a import powered FED for a couple of seasons but I'm doing another import powered dragster now, this time a RED, and it would be nice to have a goal to work towards.

  • @widebodyeclipse13 whats the best ET/mph for it now? and is there any NON american 4cyl, 6 cyl or V8 dragsters quicker than you?

  • @widebodyeclipse13 whats the best time for this car now? Most people would think a dragster needs to have a japanese engine to be a sports compact but I see your point if you race in a sports compact class.
