My sCollie pokes his food bowl with his nose like that, too :-? I wonder why they do that...

aww The sable one reminds me of my old smooth collie, Cody. Pointy ears and all

Is one male and the other female?

sorry - thought you had a funny way of saying sable...what is zobel???/ do you mean blue-merle? Both these colours can have blue eyes. =)

Actually I was looking at the zobel Collie, but anyway..
But you are right about that. It sure depends on, how they are breeded. So I will take my comment back and let you run this one :)

@koeteren95 Its a Sable merle....so it can have blue eyes. Different breeders breed dogs that look a bit different. Take beagles for example, not all beagles look like pure beagles but they are. It depends how they are bred and how they are reared. These dogs are obviously just pets so they're not reared for the show ring, which can have an effect on their comformation etc.

Yes, clean, pure, you name it :)
But I don't think, that any other breed have tilted ears - it's what I know, only the Collie who has.. But the zobel one still looks a little different to me.. i don't know, maybe it's just the way it is and that is fine with me :)
And now when I look at it, it reminds me of, that zobel Collies don't have blue eyes... It's quite pretty, by the way :P
And Gull is my Blue Merle. His mom was a Blue Merle Smoothie and his Dad was a Tri Rough. There were both Roughs and Smooths from that litter, but all the puppies were Blue Merles. Not sure if the color of Gull's eyes are as noticeable in the video as Oz's bright blue ones, but Gull has one blue and one brown eye.

From the video, Oz is my Sable Merle. His mom was a Blue Merle Smoothie and his Dad was a Sable Rough. All the puppies in the litter were Smooths and if memory serves, all the colors were represented in the litter... Tri, Sable, Sable Merle and Blue Merle.

Hi guys! Owner here. Both Collies in the video are purebred Smooth Collies. Their ears aren't tipped, because I didn't go thru the whole gluing process, when they were puppies. I didn't feel it was necessary, since I got them as companions only. It is allowable to breed Sables to Merles here in the USA, but any Sable Merles from the litter are not allowed to be shown. Not sure about whether you can breed from them. Blue Merles can be shown and bred.

Since Oz has that blue eye i.e from the merle gene, I take he isn't allowed to breed with pure smooth zabels or is that wrong? They are both really beautiful Collies though.

It's my understanding that issues could pop up if you breed 2 Merles together. I've never done the breeding thing though. Too afraid I wouldn't be able to part with any of the puppies. So Oz was neutered around 7 mos old. So no Fatherhood in his past, present, or future. :) Thx! I think they're beautiful too, but then again I'm utterly, totally and completely biased. :)
