  • My wife, Cynthia, is now the co-owner of our Red 1959 Dodge Convertible.

The red and white one belongs to a friend of mine. He bought it from another friend of mine, who found the car in Oregon.

Where did you live at the time you had your 59 Dodge Convertible?

    Gary

  • The car is one of about 11, that are in the US (1959 Dodge Convertibles).

There are 11 in Sweden and 1 in Switzerland.

The last one that we saw for sale on Ebay was bid up to about $176,000 as I recall

(could be wrong). It was in Sweden.

That car 2 tone blue was not a D500 from the factory (IE it had a 361 so the engine , decals as well as a lot of the accessories were added later.

The Red and white car was red and white from the factory, and was a "True D500"

    Gary

  • How long ago did you have the car, and what area are you located in?

Was your car Red & white? There are only about 11 of these 59 Dodge

Convertibles left in the US. I have a solid red one, It is the one you see in

The Video "So Tough" by the Original Casuals.

    Sorry about your "Loss"

    Gary

  • I love the song, never heard of them til now. The US has so many great artists that in England we've never heard. I LOVE the car!! too !! it's beautiful. What model cadillac is it? it is a 59caddy right? .

  • The car is a 59 Dodge.

I also have one, it is solid red, not 2 tone, look for "Original Casuals-So Tough" to see my car.

    Thanks for your comments!

    Gary

  • 1963plop. This car belongs to a friend of mine, Börje. As far as I know , it does not have a name. You can also see my 59 Dodge convertible. Look for the slide show "Original Casuals So Tough"

  • I had a 1960 Dodge Phoenix - no gear shift, push button automatic, an icky green but drove like a go go go machine.

  • The best looking car ever produced- thanks for posting!

  • 2 CARBS=COOL

  • Rare, luxury Dodge. My parents owned a few. They were getting comparable to Chryslers at this pont but with monster engine options in the 500.

    Does anyone remember options?

This is one beautiful red/white RL conv w/ Santa in the seat!

  • My first car was a '57 Chevy Bel Air, turquoise with an ivory hard top. Wish I had it now. :-)

  • great song, great car

  • love the song! love the car!

  • YOUR SO FINE! YOUR MINE!

    JUST LOVE THIS SONG!

GREAT CHA CHA DANCE WITH THIS SONG!

  • Good gracious. It looks like some fucking car forum and no one is interested in the song which is worth a lot more than the fucking car.

  • I just love my car like this one many years ago!!!

    YEP!

I had this car at one time!

  • @patrickb5197 i think joe jackson played guitar in this band

  • Not one, but TWO great things to come from Detroit when it was still a respectable place.

  • The car in this video is no ordinary Dodge but a 1959 Dodge D500 Custom Royal Lancer, a limited production model with the first Chrysler 383 cu in engine and two 4 barrel carbs. It appears to be in exceptional condition and is worth a great deal of money although prob not the $500,000 I posted before. Would guess only a few dozen are in existence today.

  • What a piece of work you’re driving there! I’m a caddi guy not many fins left. Just bit on my CTS Be coo

  • I use to OWN this car thru the day!!!! It was so FINE!!!

  • another gem from detroit's fortune records

  • Asian marriage **busizz4me.info**

  • love this SONG!! BRINGS BACK ALOT OF MEMORIES, i HAD THIS CAR IN THE DAY (1967)

  • What a Boss record, i believe the lead singer is Joe Stubbs, hes the brother of Levi Stubbs of the Four Tops.

  • I love this song!

  • great car set to a great tune. everything was just classier and more desirable back then.
