Attorney General Eric Holder finally got fed up Tuesday with claims that the Justice Department went easy in a voting rights case against members of the New Black Panther Party because they are African American.

"Think about that," Holder said. "When you compare what people endured in the South in the 60s to try to get the right to vote for African Americans, and to compare what people were subjected to there to what happened in Philadelphia—which was inappropriate, certainly that...to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line, who risked all, for my people," said Holder, who is black.

  • "MY PEOPLE" ??? Who are "MY PEOPLE" --- I thought Holder was an American- I guess I was wrong- This man has lied (PERJURY) in court and also in contempt of court many times- The highest justice official in our country LIED IN COURT- and was in contempt of COURT- just think about the entire system about how CORRUPT it is- and this man is their leader-

  • So basically since the white voters in 2008 didn't experience the savagery that the blacks experienced in the south, they shouldn't be complaining right??? So you're implying that you're not going to protect the same people who didn't protect your people in the south during the 60s, because that would make you go against your people. It seems like your're becoming like the ones you hate.

  • your telling the fox to quit eating the chickens in the hen house .

  • @damoparman1 A white person doesn't have to say "my" people. There's a historic pattern of policy that dictates its inherent protection.

  • btw.....This guy says the DOJ is not "racial" under him, yet he brought up past history as an excuse to justify not doing what should be expected in this case. Then later he tells the press that people in America "remain cowards on race". WELL YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT YOURSELF HOLDER!!! I should have known Obama's "new dialog" on race wouldn't happen. No equal justice here, just excuses. It's is just so disheartening to see being that I am considered to be a "white" American. btw..I'm IRISH

  • This is case and point why there won't be a "new dialog" on race under this administration. Men like Holder identify enough with the idea of "blackness" and the podium that they are allowed these days to hog and abuse that they excuse this racial behavior. This is the shit along with always being called "privileged whites" that non racist conservative minded white Americans are disheartened by. Most of them take everyone as come and see nothing new come from men like him.

  • Mr. Holder, in response to questions, does not argue w/the FACT that the New Black Panthers intimidated white voters in Philly. He merely states that in comparison to how the Blacks were treated in the Jim Crow South, that it's not a big deal. How will the AG deal w/future problems against race crimes against non-blacks?

Anyone who has an OPEN mind will see that Mr. Holder's behavior speaks volumes about Mr. Obama's attitudes.

  • Little colored boy belongs in prison with O.J.

  • you use history to learn from it; not justify the wrongdoings of the present in a similar fashion.
