Mt. Elbrus (west summit) stands at 5,642 metres (18,510 ft) and is considered to be the highest mountain in Europe; it is also the highest point of Russia.
It is located in the western Caucasus mountain range, in Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia, Russia, near the border of Georgia, in the northern Iranian plateau.
Rex Pemberton is the Youngest Australian to climb the Seven Summits. He climbed Mt Elbrus in July 2006.
This is a clip of the epic journey in 'the mother land' Russia.
