A whole lap around circuit Gilles Villeneuve with a camera on Paul's helmet! No commentary, only the engine sound :)

  • That's a brilliant video!

  • @Jejking In 2002 Christiano Da Matta's Pole time was 1:18.9, Juan Pablo's pole time in 2002's GP was 1:12.9. In race trim though the gap between F1's fast lap and CART's fast lap was 4.3 seconds.

  • @18PacWest More like 1.13 in qualifying and 1.16 in the race for f1, go look up the wiki. I recall an article from that time stating those USA cars were every lap about 8-9 seconds off the pace of a Formula 1 car.

  • i never new that they could put the camera right inside the helmet

  • @18PacWest And on race day it's 1:16 for f1 cars and it was 1:22 for these cars.

  • @kallo182 however in 2012 Indy has 2 engines (Honda and Chevrolet), as well as Aero packages from Chevrolet, Honda and Lotus, should be a lot more interesting.

  • @kallo182 indy cars were designed for ovals, however champ cars were still faster at both road course and oval

champ cars were so fast 1 year that drivers were pulling 5G's around Texas speedway that in practice drivers started blacking out and crashing into the wall, they had to cancel the race.

There was a big competition between the 2 leagues, INDY won and champ car merged and it's been dead since

  • @SuperColossal33

I dont know much about US Racing, because you can not watch on German TV, but where is the difference between Indycar and Champcar?

I was always thinking its the same Cars...

  • @kallo182 these are champ cars, not indy...much faster than indy but slower than F1.
