The stunning new VW Sirocco is made in Portugal in the Palmela factory near Lisbon. So it's not surprising that VW's official advert on the German TV was shot on the streets of Lisbon. The images show the old car in the old part of the city where the Santa Justa's lift appears while the new car drives around the city's old streets and in the uber modern part of the city know as "Expo" or "Park of the Nations". Images in the Oriente Station (also known as the "Transport Cathedral") designed by Santiago Calatrava and the Minister's Council building with the inverted concrete arced roof designed by Sisa Vieira appear. The main message of the advert is that the new Sirocco is Ultra Modern while remaining true to it's identity. Just like Lisbon.
