Linux was not "built from UNIX", it is a POSIX compiant Unix workalike which originally drew some inspiration from Minix.

Lolz. I think it should've come after 98, since the GUI was officially more eye-popping by the time XP came out. :O But yeah, after GNOME and KDE, the ACTUAL benefits of Linux are being easily introduced alongside a beautiful environment.
