I did a few TV shows in Anniston, Al with the composer of this song- Bobby Edwards, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2002

It's been recorded by several other people. Johnny Burnette, Johnny Tillotson, Hank Locklin, even Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. I don't think Bobby Darin did it, though I could be wrong.
