Forget everything you think you know about Uwe Boll. Okay, not quite everything. Postal is, once again, a Boll film adapted from a video game, but while his early efforts were ever-so serious Postal is a crudely uproarious, positively hilarious satire of post 9/11 America, religious extremism, conspiracy theories, and just about anything else you'd care to throw into the pot. There is no cow too sacred, no joke too crude for Boll and company. And while the dick and fart jokes abound, Postal also shows a surprisingly sharp satiric edge, one that guarantees the film will offend many as all good satire does. Could it be that this late into his career Boll has found his true calling?

Oubliez à peu près tout ce que vous pensez savoir sur Uwe Boll. Postal est, lui aussi, un film que Boll a réalisé en s'inspirant d'un jeu vidéo. Mais autant ses premières œuvres étaient sérieuses comme tout, autant Postal est une satire absolument hilarante de l'Amérique de l'après-11 septembre: extrémisme religieux, thèses de complots, et tout ce qu'il est possible de traiter dans ce contexte. Il n'y a pas de sujet assez tabou, pas de plaisanterie assez crue pour Boll et compagnie. Les blagues sur le sexe et le pet abondent; néanmoins, Postal présente aussi un côté satirique qui garantit que le film offensera pas mal de gens. Se pourrait-il que Boll ait, à ce stade avancé de sa carrière, trouvé sa vocation?
