  • Oh, great! He says he likes playing piano and he loves Mozart! I was sure we should have something important in common.

  • @franciskerst

If I'm not mistaken, the music used for this programme is the same Martin Shaw requested to be used for the Pros ep "Discovered In A Grave-Yard"...piano concerto no. 21 by Mozart.

  • @angelfish45 I had to check first and play the CD first , but yes, it is the one. I can't play very difficult pieces, just a few sonatas and waltzes. But I was so glad to know that GJ used to play piano; so few people do it now.

Thanks for checking!! Oh, and Hats off to you for playing piano, my musical talents are very, very limited :-(

  • Always liked this talented gentleman and his impressive body of work. He is much admired here in America.

  • @Fatoldbear I had never heard about Kennet Williams before I out of a whim bought a DVD "An audience with Kenneth Williams" and it was absolutely hilarious! Gordon Jackson was in the audience, which was the reason for buying the DVD. But oh boy, how witty and fun KW was, I laughed all through the whole show! It was funnier than most our "comedies" put together...

  • I am at present reading through the Kenneth Williams Diaries and through out Gordon Jackson and his wife Rona, as well as Stanley Baxter are always meeting up for dinner or Kenneth is staying over, they were all such good friends.

  • @nylonTS The interview was aired in August 1989 and he passed away the next January. And I suppose he knew he wouldn't have much time left, that's the feeling I get from some of his comments, like that "twilight of my life". Indeed, God rest and bless you, Gordon Jackson.

  • he must have passed away soon after this interview

    god rest and bless you

  • The man is class ! and as a fellow Scot I'm proud to call my self one when i see excellent examples of character like the one he has, Every year i have a nip of scotch on his Birthday (19th Dec) God bless Gordon.

  • Heartfelt thanks to you Angelfish and those lovely ladies for contributing this gem. It's a real treat to watch GJ, to listen to him talking in such an artless fashion about his feelings about acting and actors. I could listen to him for hours. Lucky, who had the pleasure of knowing him personally. *****

  • George Cowley, the Best CI5 man!!
