I have been in D23 from the beginning, thanks to my attentive wife who saw it and gave me a charter membership. I think D23 has gotten so big they have forgotten why the started it. Its for the true Disney geeks, not all of the upstart wannabees. Get back to your roots or the true geeks will find other outlets for their Disney Quest.

@ztslovebird Thanks, according to Wikipedia: it was to look like a soundstage backdrop, with a movie theater-style entrance in the middle. (btw that is the origin of the Great Movie Ride) When CEO Michael Eisner saw the plans for the pavilion, he requested that, instead of placing the ride in an already existing park, it should be surrounded by a brand new theme park which extended the showbiz, Hollywood and entertainment theme. :)

@ztslovebird There was supposed to be a Future World pavilion dedicated to Hollywood and film at Epcot. Disney thought the idea would be strong enough to justify a new park. End of story.

I hope they didn't rename the Wicked Witch. I hope it's still Elphaba, like it is in Wicked!
